Winding through an ancient grove of enormous trees, the Ross Creek Cedars Nature Trail on the Three Rivers Ranger District is one of the most visited sites on the Forest. As part of a Great American Outdoors Act funded project, the area will be undergoing much needed improvements beginning as early as April 2025.
This project will improve the existing nature trail to provide a consistent, sustainable trail surface that meets Forest Accessibility Standards for all users while protecting the grove and other vegetation from the high visitation rates and better defining the route.
To ensure public and contractor safety, a closure is anticipated to be in effect in the area from April through September 2025. Please plan accordingly and visit other wonderful destinations on the Kootenai National Forest.
For more information on the Ross Creek Cedars Nature Trail and construction updates, please call the Three Rivers Ranger District (406-295-4693).
We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to an improved Ross Creek Cedars nature trail.
