Are you looking to adopt a four-legged buddy to enjoy the outdoors with? Nearly 90 Morgan horses are coming up for adoption in Madison County.

From the Madison County Sheriff’s Office:

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), is fully committed to the care and well-being of nearly 90 Morgan horses that were seized from a property in Madison County, MT. These horses were seized under court order as part of an investigation into alleged animal cruelty. The 5th Judicial District Court recently issued an order resulting in the forfeiture of the horses to Madison County. On April 1st, 2025 the Madison County Commissioners approved a transfer of the horses to the ASPCA. The ASPCA will make the horses available for adoption locally in the coming weeks. Interested adopters should visit this link( https://airtable.com/appiXxRdQiVGjUFbB/shrANZQZCt2Y0Fxmi ) to apply. The ASPCA will aim to respond within two business days, barring any delays due to the generous outpouring of support for these horses. Horses who are not initially adopted in this early window, as well as those not yet ready for direct adoption, will be transferred to ASPCA partner shelters and rescues. Anyone unable to be present in Montana to meet the horses during the specific pick-up window in-person may visit myrighthorse.org, the ASPCA’s online equine adoption platform, for information on available horses.

We are deeply grateful for your patience and unwavering support throughout this process.
