Back in March, we shared a story about a hound that discovered dead in the Yellowstone River after being shot. Well, we have a sad update that was posted on April 14th by the owner, Laura Clem, in the 406 ! group:
“Update: Yesterday we received a call that a Walker Hound- deceased, was found along the river just south of Carbella bridge. It was Boone. We now know both hounds were shot and thrown in the river. Thank you, everyone for continuing to look for him. PLEASE if you have any information, contact Detective Joseph Luther at the Sheriff’s department. Update: On January 13th, Boone and Bandit went missing in the area of the Sphinx Creek trailhead and the camping area across from Joe Brown fishing access. There were many people who helped search and helped get word out on social media. Houndsmen groups and Lost Pet groups from across the country helped get word out and kept their eyes and ears open in case they were picked up and taken. After 2 months of not hearing anything, we received a call that what looked like a walker hound was spotted along the river in the area the hounds went missing- deceased. Joe and a friend went down to the river and discovered it was Bandit. He had been shot and thrown in the river. We are assuming Boone is also in the river somewhere. This was a sick and cowardly act! How would you feel if someone shot your dog or your horse? After looking at images from night vision scopes, this could not have been an accident. Whoever did this, keep looking over your shoulder; we will figure it out. Someone saw something or will say something. Karma can be a bitch. If anyone has any information, please PM me or contact the Park County Sheriffs Dept- Detective Joseph Luther. Thank you.
Sorry for the graphic pictures, but maybe seeing what happened to this sweet hound will make someone say something they otherwise would not say.”
