The 2025 Spring Mack Days fishing tournament on Flathead Lake has seen anglers reeling in impressive lake trout, adding excitement to the ongoing event. Mack Days, running from March 13 to May 10, is sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and sanctioned by Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. The tournament aims to reduce non-native lake trout populations to support native bull trout and westslope cutthroat trout.

Participants have the opportunity to win up to $225,000 in cash and prizes, including a coveted $10,000 tagged lake trout named “Willy.” As of the third week, anglers have entered a record-breaking 20,211 lake trout, surpassing previous years’ totals at this stage.
