We’re still waiting on the weather to help us out and get the ice off the main lake and possibly this next week it might get it done. There is a little bit of shoreline fishing that can be done in the Duck Creek area but the wind is moving ice around a bit so what’s open in the morning might be covered back up in the afternoon. Light jigs with a plastic or minnow and slip bobbers with minnows are some good options for shoreline fishing right now.
The Nelson Creek ramp area is free of ice as of Tuesday but it doesn’t sound like the dock will be in until sometime next week at the earliest. When we finished up ice fishing down there the water was about 4-5 feet deep and there was quite a bit of wood that flooded on top of the ice so it could be a little challenging launching a prop boat down there until we get a little runoff.
