Ah, the internet—where every photo becomes an instant debate and everyone’s an expert. A viral shot of a vehicle and ice tent parked just feet from open water (where a guy is casually boat fishing) has people buzzing about ice safety—or lack thereof.
Matt Claflin posted the above picture on the Mississippi, captioning it, “Only on the Mississippi River! Guy is boat fishing next to a guy who drove his vehicle out to ice fish! Lol—be careful out there!” Locals don’t seem too fazed, with one chiming in that there was a solid 18 inches of ice where the car was parked. Others? Not so convinced, tossing out comments like, “Probably doesn’t like his car and needs the insurance money.”
At the end of the day, the internet loves a good argument, whether it’s about fishing, ice safety or the best way to butter toast. But the real question is—would you trust that ice? Or would you be in a boat just watching…from a safe distance?
