Canyon Ferry: Rainbows are being caught from the Silos to Pond 4 in 15 to 25 feet of water on Hali jigs in purple, yellow or green with either a worm or maggots. Rainbows, perch and walleye are being caught in 25 to 35 feet of water around Hole in the Wall and out from Duck Creek while using glo hooks or green or yellow jigs with either a worm or maggots. An occasional burbot is being caught as well on the bottom with cut bait. There is 14 to16 inches of ice around the Silos and Ponds, 12 to 13 inches at Hole in the Wall and Duck Creek and 8 inches at White Earth. No report on ice depths on the north end. Hauser: A few perch, walleye, and rainbow trout are being caught in the Causeway Arm while using various jigs tipped with maggots or crawlers. Fishing has slowed down on Lake Helena, but a few perch and walleye are being picked up while jigging with rattle spoons and crawlers. A few burbot are being caught out from Black Sandy at night while using setlines with glow jigs and cut bait. There has been around 7 to 9 inches of ice in most places and 10 inches or more on Lake Helena. Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena
Holter: Good numbers of perch continue to be caught out from Departure Point and the Prairie Dog Town while fishing in 35 to 40 feet of water with Swedish Pimples or small glow jigs tipped with maggots or crawler pieces. Trout action has been good near the road at the Gates of the Mountains and in some of the bays on the lower end of the reservoir while fishing 3 to 6 feet below the ice with meal worms, plain crawlers, various jigs or small spoons. A few northern pike are being caught during the early morning or late evening hours near the Gates as well while using set lines with glow jigs and dead suckers or herring. An occasional burbot is being caught out from the BLM boat ramp at night while using cut bait. There is 6 to 9 inches of ice near the road at the Gates. On the lower end of the reservoir, the ice is 8 to 10 inches thick in most places. Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena
Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir: Kokanee fishing has been decent while jigging in 30 to 35 feet of water with various spoons or Halis tipped with maggots or corn.
