Hello, sunshine! It’s a gorgeous day at Tongue River Reservoir, according to a post via Tongue River Reservoir State Park, with temps hitting 38 degrees. But don’t let that fool you—yesterday morning was -4, and the ice is steadily thickening. The reservoir has about 2 inches of snow blanketing the ice and shoreline.
Here’s the scoop on the ice thickness:
- Camper’s Point: 5-6 inches of solid ice.
- Rattlesnake Point (and south): Same deal—5-6 inches.
- Neck Bay/Sand Point (and north): Around 3 inches when they last checked a few days ago.
- North Bay shoreline: 3-4 inches.
As always, keep safety top of mind and double-check the ice as you go. Better safe than swimming!
