Lottery Details:

  • Eligibility: Open to all hunters, including tribal members, non-members, Montana residents, and non-residents.
  • Entry Process: Hunters can purchase chances at $10 each, with a maximum of 20 chances per individual.
  • Drawings: Multiple lotteries are scheduled, with specific sales and drawing dates. For instance, one lottery’s sales period ends on December 22, with the drawing on December 23.
  • Minimum Sales Requirement: A minimum of 400 chances must be sold; otherwise, the winner is required to pay $500.
  • Hunter’s Reward: Successful hunters retain the bison’s head, hide, and meat.
