Hook, Line, and Submarine

According to an article via the Daily Mail, a Norwegian fishing boat named ‘Island Boy’ was out for a regular haul of halibut when it got an unexpected catch of the day—a U.S. nuclear submarine! The USS Virginia, a stealthy 7,800-ton sub, somehow snagged itself on their nets and dragged them two nautical miles before anyone realized.

Now, those fishermen have the ultimate ‘big one that got away’ story, but they’re down a lot of fishing gear (and probably a few nerves).

In the end, the Coast Guard had to step in, the nets are at the bottom of the sea, and the legend of the ‘Island Boy’ vs. USS Virginia lives on!

That’s definitely quite a story.
