We didn’t fish the lake this past week due to the cold and instead made a run down fishing the Dry Arm checking for ice. We found 2-2.5 inches of good clear ice south of the Nelson Creek boat ramp and with the cool weather this week there should be safe walkable ice by this weekend.
If you are heading out on early ice remember to bring an ice bar and check the ice frequently as first-of-the-year ice can vary widely in thickness, ice picks and a throw bag are also a couple of other safety items we never head out on the ice without. Hopefully, this coming week we will have some fish on the ice, hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
