Every sportsmen or woman has their favorite morning snack. Donuts are very popular and great donuts are sought after. My brother knows where the best donuts are in several states. This early morning sugar fix is important for sports to have an active day.
My buddy Meat Stick, feasts on meat stick’s or jerky at any time of the day. Sweets are an unhealthy addition to his diet for health reasons. I am sure that if he could feast on donuts, Pus Buns would be a favorite choice.
So, what is your favorite morning snack? At Montana Wheat, in 3 Forks, they have a great assortment of fresh pastries and donuts. Cakey donuts are the of my buddy Handy Randy’s choice. To each their own. My brother loves Bear claws.
Back in the day, my son Kyle also enjoyed Pop Tarts and those little chocolate covered donut gems. The other day when I took my grandson CC fishing, a Little Debbie chocolate wafered snack was a big hit.
My favorite is Pus Buns! So, what is a Pus Bun? This pastry is a donut filled with custard. Some call them Bavarian Creams. They can be round or elongated. Either way, they are also covered with chocolate icing. Dam tasty, and full of energy. Most donuts filled with jelly, marshmallow, or something are darned tasty.
The term “Pus Buns” was given by an old hunting and fishing buddy named Keith. He also had another nickname, but it is one that is too crude for public use.
Whatever your morning riser snack is, enjoy. As you age, your choice of what is healthy will begin to shrink as your belly doesn’t!
