BILLINGS – Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks game wardens are seeking information on a whitetail buck that was shot and wasted with just the head removed on private land along West Arrow Creek outside of Billings.

Wardens responded to a report on Oct. 23, and found the deer dead from gunshot wounds. Wasting any part of a game animal that is suitable for food is prohibited. This incident occurred before the general rifle hunting season for deer began.

Anyone with possible information about this incident is asked to visit tipmont.mt.gov or call the local game warden at 406-860-7805 to provide details. Those who report information may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
