BILLINGS – County officials have lifted Stage 1 fire restrictions in Yellowstone and Stillwater counties. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks follows the lead of local counties on fire restrictions and FWP sites in these counties are no longer under fire restrictions.

In Yellowstone County, FWP sites include Yellowstone Wildlife Management Area (WMA), Blue Creek Fishing Access Site (FAS), Broadview Pond FAS, Bundy Bridge FAS, Buffalo Mirage FAS, Captain Clark FAS, Duck Creek FAS, East Bridge FAS, Gritty Stone FAS, Manuel Lisa FAS, South Hills FAS, Voyagers Rest FAS, Lake Elmo State Park and Pictograph Cave State Park.

FWP sites in Stillwater County include Big Lake WMA, Buffalo Jump FAS, Castle Rock FAS, Cliff Swallow FAS, Fireman’s Point FAS, Holmgren FAS, Homestead Isle FAS, Indian Fort FAS, Jeffrey’s Landing FAS, Moraine FAS, Rosebud Isle FAS, Swinging Bridge FAS and Whitebird FAS.

Though restrictions have been lifted in many counties, FWP urges the public to always use caution around open flames to reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires.
