Not everyone loves to hunt in the Fall. Some folks enjoy other pastimes and may even pick up a fishing rod on occasion. Whatever you enjoy. Fall begins with about 12 hours of daytime and nighttime. There is still plenty of time to enjoy the season.

Montana in the Fall is wonderful. The cooler temperatures, vibrant colors of the forests, and active wildlife populations are on the move. Fish are spawning and migrations are in full swing. If you stay at home, you will be into Winter before you know it.

Fall in Montana means fewer tourists. Ski season has not started, and kids are in school. Traffic is less crowded, and Montana is adorned in its full colors.

Here are some Fall Fun Tips to pursue.

HUNT    If you do not want to carry a bow, gun, or primitive weapon, carry some binoculars and a camera.

Take a Road Trip     It takes a few hours to go anywhere in Big Sky Country. Pick an area you have not yet explored, pack a lunch, and hit the road.

Float, Drift, Paddle, and Row     Time spent on the water is special. Catch a wave before Winter chills freeze it up.

Visit a Place     Search for destinations and make a Bucket List. The list may be about food, history, or…

Pick a place to fish    Streams, ponds, and rivers are full of active fish in the Fall. Brown and Brook trout will be on the spawn.

Bike, Hike, or Jog     Check out some new places while you are getting into better shape.

Celebrate out environments as they prepare for a long Winter.
