Water and fishing have been a common theme for our dreams. Hydration is important in many aspects of our lives. Living and relaxing around water has many ripple effects. 

The sounds of water are restful, relaxing, and soothing. One of my favorite restful cassette tapes was a full tape of the Madison River. I recorded it at the big rock where you go through the cattle gate at Raynolds Pass access. When I could not sleep, I would play the tape softly. In moments I was back on the river. 

We also dream about what our favorite fishing spot would look like. For some this dream would include all the comforts while catching a limit of great fish. Some cold beer or beverages of choice would be included. Favorite snacks, and friends would make the dream come true. 

Anglers always dream big! They dream about the massive fish they want to catch, the big fish that got away, or the great fish that they did catch. Anglers never get enough bites, fish on the line, fish in their cellphone Picts, or time spent on the water with friends and wildlife. Wearing out fish nets is a challenge all anglers dream about. 

Boaters, floaters, canoers. Kayakers, and waders all dream about fishing, hunting, or being in their best gear or craft. These dreams also include great sunrises and sunsets. It is amazing how realistic our dreams can be. The details, sounds, smells, and sensations all reinforce our sleepy imaginations. 

As we age the best part of our dream’s changes. As young anglers and sportsmen/women, we may have beautiful or handsome scantily clad fishing buddies in our dreams. As we age, we focus on the fish, ducks, bucks, or… As we evolve, the biggest and best dream fish and trophies are being caught by our grandkids or friends. 

Water is amazing. We cannot live without water. We can drink it, clean in it, cook in it, fish in it, swim in it, boat in it, listen to it, and just go with the flow. 

Spray it, spit it, swim in it, float on it, cast into it, and dream about it!
