Two anglers reeled in history while fishing together

Two anglers fishing together in West Virginia made fishing history on August 8th, breaking records for both the length and weight of black crappie. This could happen in Montana, too!
According to a press release by WVDNR, Lindell Marker kicked things off early in the morning with a 17.36-inch catch that tied the existing weight record. But just over an hour later, his buddy, Dwight Priestley reeled in a 17.76-inch, 3.15-pound crappie, setting new state records.
Both catches highlight the incredible fishing opportunities at Woodrum Lake. With a total of eight record-breaking catches already in 2024, West Virginia is proving to be a top spot for anglers!
