This past week, the size of fish picked for the Captain and his crew.  There were not as many caught, but the ones that they did boat had some better weights to them.
Berny, the Captain’s first mate, started the week off right with an 18-pounder! The next day, Gary Rueb, the Black Jaw Fly Guy, caught a personal best at 25 pounds   Wednesday, it was Alan Tabish from Missoula reeling in a 24-pound salmon. Thursday, Brett French the outdoor editor of the Billings Gazette and montanaoutdoor.com had a great day catching a 22 and then a 23-pound salmon within an hour of each other.

There was plenty of trolling time throughout the day with nothing to show for it, but when a big salmon hits and peels off 200 feet of line, the excitement when that happens–and that is what makes Black Jaw Fever!

A lot of other anglers also had success, so now is the time to head to Fort Peck, as the salmon run in the next week should be even better!

Flies, Brads Mini cups work the best right now with mostly 8-inch flashers 80-90 feet down trolling 2.2 miles per hour.
