Canyon Ferry: Walleye action is improving with anglers finding success around White Earth, between the Silos and Pond 4 and from the Silos to Hole in the Wall while using bottom bouncers with chartreuse or red spinner blades or Slow Death rigs with worms in 15 to 25 feet of water.  Assorted crankbaits have produced walleye and rainbows in these areas.  Rainbows are also being caught between Magpie Bay and Cemetery Island on crankbaits.  The carp spawn is mostly over but a few are still being found with archery equipment.  Shore fishing is slow.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Hauser: Rainbow fishing has been good while trolling cowbells and spinner combos with leaded line from Back Sandy to the Dam and from York Bridge to Devil’s Elbow. A few rainbows are being caught from shore at the Causeway Bridge and Riverside below Canyon Ferry Dam with floating jigs tipped with crawlers or power bait. Walleye fishing continues to be good in Lake Helena and inside the Causeway Arm while trolling bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses with chartreuse or orange spinner blades.  Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena
Holter: Rainbow fishing has been great between Split Rock and the Dam while trolling cowbells and spinner combos with leaded line or deep running perch or blue colored crankbaits. Some nice kokanee are being caught near the Dam while trolling dodgers or cowbells with double whammy spinners tipped with shoepeg corn around 30 feet down in the water column. Walleye fishing continues to be good near the Clay Banks and in the Canyon near the Gates of the Mountains while vertical jigging with worms or leeches or trolling bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses in 15 to 25 feet of water. Perch action has been great while pitching small jigs and crawlers inside the bays in the Canyon and around the docks at the boat ramps on the lower end of the reservoir.  Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena
