A recent ruling in the District of Southern California just flipped the script on California’s ammo purchase rules. No more mandatory in-person background checks for every ammo buy, bringing the state more in line with the rest of the nation. U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez dropped the hammer, calling these checks both unconstitutional and ineffective. With rejection rates soaring for law-abiding buyers and a mere fraction actually on the prohibited list, it’s a whole new ball game for ammo sales in the Golden State.
