The salmon are slowly appearing in the bays on Fort Peck by the dam. Normally, at this time, there are hundreds of salmon jumping in the marina bay and Duck Creek Bay by the boat ramps.
Gary Rueb, from Plentywood, and the Captain spent four days trolling a Berkley frenzy lure around the bays and had nothing to show for it until Monday. They ended up with four males that weighed between 12-17 pounds. They smacked the lure pretty good.
Some shore anglers are also having success. The salmon meat is still firm. Snagging season starts October 1st.
