On Jan. 3, hunting of female lions ends in HDs 411 and 204, and male lion hunting wraps up in HDs 321, 121, and 122 at sunset. HELENA – The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission has ordered the following closures for mountain lion hunting:
- All hunting of male mountain lions in Hunting District (HD) 413 closed yesterday, Jan. 1.
- All hunting of male mountain lions will close in HDs 215 and 280 at one-half hour after sunset today, Jan. 2.
- All hunting of female mountain lions in HDs 411 and 204 will close one-half hour after sunset on Friday, Jan. 3.
- All hunting of male mountain lions in HDs 321, 121 and 122 will close one-half hour after sunset on Friday, Jan. 3.

Skeletal remains found near Flathead River
On February 4, 2025, at about 1015 am, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a Tribal Game Warden had located skeletonized human remains in the Buffalo Bridge area on the Flathead River.
