Fish and Wildlife Commission announces several mountain lion hunting closures

As of now, male lion hunting is closed in HD 413, with closures for HDs 215 and 280 kicking in at sunset today, Jan. 2. On Jan. 3, hunting of female lions ends in HDs 411 and 204, and male lion hunting wraps up in HDs 321, 121, and 122 at sunset. HELENA – The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission has ordered the following closures for mountain lion hunting:

  • All hunting of male mountain lions in Hunting District (HD) 413 closed yesterday, Jan. 1.
  • All hunting of male mountain lions will close in HDs 215 and 280 at one-half hour after sunset today, Jan. 2.
  • All hunting of female mountain lions in HDs 411 and 204 will close one-half hour after sunset on Friday, Jan. 3.
  • All hunting of male mountain lions in HDs 321, 121 and 122 will close one-half hour after sunset on Friday, Jan. 3.
