BILLINGS – Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks game wardens are seeking information on a bull elk that was shot and wasted on private property northeast of Worden.
Wardens responded to a report from the landowner and found the bull elk dead from gunshot wounds on the private property off of Bundy Road. The bull was likely shot on Dec. 6 or Dec. 7. Nothing was taken from the animal.
The elk—a 5×6 bull with a broken main antler beam—was killed on private property without landowner permission and was taken out of season. Additionally, wasting any part of a game animal that is suitable for food is prohibited.
Anyone with possible information about this incident is asked to visit tipmont.mt.gov or call the local game warden at 406-409-1987 to provide details. Those who report information may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
