In-person Hunter Ed field day available this Saturday at Spotted Eagle Rec Area in Miles City

Last chance this season for youths to meet requirement field day requirement!
As of 2024, if your child is between 12 and 17 and took the online Hunter Education course, he or she is still required to have an in-person field day before being able to legally hunt. This is the last in-person field day that will be offered in FWP Region 7 before the general season is over.
The field day will run on Saturday, Nov. 2 from noon to 4 p.m. at Spotted Eagle Recreation Area in Miles City. Dress for the weather, as the entire course will be outside. Space is limited to 10 students.

To register for this free course, visit fwp.mt.gov and click on the Education link, then scroll down and click on Hunter Education. If you’ve already completed the online course, click on the “Find a Field Day” button. If you still need to take the online course, click the “Take the Online Course” button. Once you have completed that, click on “Find a Field Day.” Be sure to print out the field day qualifier certificate and present it at Saturday’s event. Participants must also have a signed permission slip that is available on the registration site.
