Here is the latest on the Bighorn from the Yellow Dog Flyfishing:
Flow Data: Bighorn River near St. Xaiver, MT
Fishing remains good on the Bighorn. The weather next week is a little warmer than the Bozeman area but still rainy. Looks like excellent fishing weather to me. The river has been a little crowded but not crazy. Not much for dry fly action but midges have been hatching. Nymphing remains the best option but streamer fishing has been producing larger fish. A Black Micro Mayfly, Pearl/ Olive Jiggy Perdigon, Black Zebra Midge, or Tailwater Sowbug have worked the best. Scuds and worms are also very productive imitations to use on the Bighorn. Just about any worm in any color will suffice. Streamer fishing is OK but getting better. Sparkle Minnows, Skiddish Smolts, and Geisha Girls have been productive. Fish are deep in pretty slow moving water. If you do streamer fish, let your flies sink and retrieve them slowly.
