Mike from Midway RV shared some pictures of his fishing adventure this past weekend on Tongue River Reservoir.
Tongue River Reservoir is located in southeastern Montana, near the town of Decker in Big Horn County. It sits close to the Wyoming border and is part of Tongue River State Park, which is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and camping. The reservoir is formed by the Tongue River Dam and stretches approximately 12 miles long.
Mike and his crew were using tip ups and doing a little bit of jigging. Mike was able to catch a 37″ pike which was his personal best pike.
“We hit the ice with high hopes, and it didn’t disappoint—Wife Crystal, Daughter Katelynn, and I all landed our first northern pike! Mine was a beast at 37″, and we almost lost the rod and reel down the hole in the chaos. Katelynn and Crystal both hand lined in their first pike off tip-ups, and buddies Chris and Zack rounded out the weekend with fish of their own. Perfect weather, unreal starry nights, and plenty of sled rides back and forth to the ice shack made for some unforgettable memories. This is definitely going to be an every-year tradition for the Smiths! ❄️🎣🔥” – Mike Smith
