BILLINGS – Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks game wardens are seeking information on two mule deer bucks that were shot and wasted on private property five miles south of Lockwood along Dry Creek.

Wardens responded to a report from the landowner and found the deer dead from gunshot wounds on the private property. The bucks were likely shot and left between Oct. 4 and Oct. 5.

Wasting any part of a game animal that is suitable for food is prohibited and the general rifle hunting season for deer does not begin until Oct. 26.

Anyone with possible information about this incident is asked to visit tipmont.mt.gov or call the local game warden at 406-860-7804 to provide details. Callers may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
