Livingston, MT, August 15, 2024—Mill Creek Road will be closed August 26-27th for public safety due to construction work to replace Wicked Creek Bridge, which is also known locally as the Snowbank Bridge.

“We thank the community for their patience and understanding during this two-day closure of Mill Creek Road,” said Yellowstone Ranger District Recreation Program Manager Lawson Maclean. “Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions, and we will continue to share updates as well as any future closure dates as they become available.”

The project started on August 5th and is expected to take four to five weeks. The Wicked Creek ATV trail is closed for the duration of the project.

The Wicked Creek Bridge, which is the sole access to the Snowbank Campground as well as much-loved trails, was destroyed during the June 2022 flooding event. A temporary bridge was installed in October of 2022, which provides pedestrian and ATV access to area trails, but it was not rated for full-sized vehicles, so the campground was closed until the bridge could be replaced.

Funding from the Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads program was received to permanently replace the bridge, which will restore access to the campground and trails.
