Residents of southwest and south-central Montana awoke to a torrential floodwaters in parts of Carbon, Stillwater and Park counties on Monday. Although waters have now dropped, after threatening Billings with a historic high flow on the Yellowstone River, warm weekend temperatures adding more snowmelt is a concern. The damages have closed fishing access sites along the Yellowstone, Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone and Stillwater rivers, in addition to shutting down much of the Custer Gallatin National Forest to recreation. This is in addition to all of the roads, bridges and homes that were damaged.
