Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) and Flathead Lake State Park invite the public to enjoy guided hikes of Wild Horse Island. Wild Horse Island offers world-class hiking and wildlife viewing experiences, and these guided hikes explore the natural and cultural history of this remarkable part of Flathead Lake State Park.
The 3.5-mile hikes begin at 10:30am at the Skeeko Bay Landing and will be offered on July 14, July 28, and August 3, 2019. Transportation to the island will not be provided. Hikers should bring a water bottle and wear weather appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes, and sun protection. These guided hikes are $4 per person or $10 per family. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT.

Flathead Lake State Park consists of six unique park units located around Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. The park units on the east side are Wayfarers, Yellow Bay and Finley Point and the west side units are West Shore, Big Arm and Wild Horse Island. In addition to boating, swimming and fishing, each park unit offers unique experiences including camping, rental picnic shelters, group camping, hiking, sightseeing, picnicking, and wildlife viewing opportunities.
