Joe Moline of Lewistown sent a photo of a huge walleye that he said that he heard was caught recently out of Hell Creek on Fort Peck Reservoir. So, we called Hell Creek Marina to see if they had heard of or seen this walleye brought in by the angler. Clint Thomas, the owner of the marina, said that he thinks the picture was taken just inside Peterson Point in Hell Creek Bay and that the angler had definitely stayed at the hotel and even bought minnows from Clint, but he didn’t know who he was. We asked Clint how much he thought the fish weighed, and he told us that it was hard to tell by the picture, but he thought it might be 13+ pounds and possibly as much as 16 pounds, depending on the length of the walleye.
There’s still open water out there, listen to last weeks show here.
