Grazing Lease Proposed for Beartooth Wildlife Management Area

Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks is seeking public comment on a proposed grazing lease in the Beartooh Wildlife Management area near Holter Lake.

The proposed project encompasses more than 38,000 acres of public and private land including 26,300 acres of Sieban Live Stock land, 2,200 acres held by the Bureau of Land Managment and 220 acres of state land.

According to FWP, the project would allow the agency to protect and increase habitat for for fish and wildlife on property adjacent to the WMA.

A 30-day public review and comment period will run Feb. 5 – March 6.
