Some of you may be able to relate to these guys’ situation. A group of Red Lodge friends, who are gaining in years but still like to hang out and fish in the nearby Beartooth Mountains in the summer, decided to reach a golden trout lake with a little help from some horses. The backpackers hired outfitters to take them to Crow Lake. From there they proceeded on their own to Sylvan Lake and down to the East Rosebud trailhead.
To read more about the trek, and what the horses allowed them to pack in, check out my story in this week’s Montana Untamed. http://montanauntamed.com/
