These photos did not come from Montana, as two were posted by an Alberta, Canada hunting page and said to have been taken by a firefighter in British Columbia a while back, and a Californian, Shane McDow, posted the buck photo as a comment on the shared post. The animal in the tree appears to be a fisher. There is no sagittal crest on the animal, but many believed the animal to be a mountain lion, which I don’t believe it is. Austin Ross shared those two screenshots (of the original post that Jan Henderson shared) below.
Just a sad visual and reminder that we aren’t the only ones affected by these wildfires.
