Montana’s wolf harvest numbers, as of Sunday, February 2, 2014, are residing at 195, with 64 wolves being taken via trapping and 131 wolves being taken via hunting. The only Wolf Management Unit (WMU) that is closed, to date, is still WMU 313. The numbers at this time last year differ by a total of 10 wolves, as there were 185 wolves taken by February 3rd of 2013 and 74 being taken by trapping.
Montana’s wolf hunting season closes on March 15th, while the wolf trapping season closes on February 28th. For more information on wolf hunting and trapping in Montana, visit fwp.mt.gov.
