The name Hell Creek Marina has been temporarily changed to Heaven Creek Marina as fishing the Fort Peck Reservoir is at an all time best. Brandt Hamernick and Tracy Powers spent the last week of June fishing at the remote location, 25 miles North of Jordon, Montana. Their fishing day began approximately 7am and ended at dusk with their limit caught on the many fish species. Ladies and Gentleman the BITE at Fort Peck, Montana is on!
Hamernick and Powers fished Snow Creek and Crooked Creek exclusively, landing walleye ranging from 25-29 inch in length trolling with bottom bouncers at 7-13′ deep and also jigging the shore lines with kits tackle 3/8″ fire tiger jigs. Powers caught a 19″ bass weighing 4lbs 9oz jigging the shore line of Snow Creek.
Powers competed in the 20th annual Hell Creek, Jordon Chapter of Walleye Unlimited with her partner Rinada Moline of Lewistown, and finished 6th place with 14.22 lbs, 5lbs shy of first place. The lady duo began fishing at 7am and had their two largest fish by 8:30am which called for a visit to the weigh boat.
Let’s remember folks, “Reel Women Fish!”
