Glacier goers will have access to Logan Pass this weekend! The road won’t entirely open until June 21, weather permitting, but visitors will be able to navigate the scenic drive from St. Mary to Logan Pass. The above image is from a webcam of St. Mary’s entrance taking this morning. Looks like some beautiful weather for visitors to the park!
Currently 34.0 miles of the Going-to-the-Sun Road are open for travel.
Visitors can drive 15.5 miles from the West Entrance to Avalanche, and 18.5 miles from the St. Mary Entrance to Logan Pass.
Here is a map of current road status in the park which is updated regularly and can be found here.
Park officials said restrooms will be available but no potable water at Logan pass until next week. Hiker and Biker access is unrestricted this weekend, but will be limited past Logan Pass due to road construction starting Monday, June 17.
Visitors should expect snowy, winter conditions at the pass, and park officials encourage appropriate clothing and foot ware when visiting higher altitude sections of Glacier.
For current conditions call park headquarters at (406) 888-7800 or check their website at www.nps.gov/glac.
