MISSOULA – A woman was taken to the hospital after a Thursday evening moose encounter just outside of Missoula.
The victim was walking her five dogs near a Blue Mountain trail when they came upon a moose and her calf.
Officials say the dogs primal instincts kicked in and they attacked the moose, and when the tried to pull the dogs away, the moose turned and attacked the victim.
There’s no word on the how badly the woman was hurt, and law enforcement officials are reminding people to keep their dogs close when hiking.
