Winter is here and the first big storm, Brutus, moved through the region this week. There was only a dusting of snow in Missoula, but Big Sky reported 12 inches on Lone Peak. Time to get excited for ski season.
Hunting season is also in full force. The elk are likely to be heading to their wintering grounds soon, check out this weeks Captain’s Column to read more.
Michael Gordon, of Missoula, bagged a massive 8 x 8 elk in the Snowy Mountains and it was by far the most popular post this week on www.MontanaOutdoor.com. Also Mickey Bradway harvested a nice bull elk on opening weekend.
The Twisted Tea Hot Fishing Spot of the Week is a tie between Lake Koocanusa and Flathead Lake. Listen to the audio reports here and find out what the fishing are biting on.
Also, congratulations to Cory Patterson, of Butte, MT and Aaron Rood, of Hiwood, MT! They were the latest winners on the Kendall Four Seasons Subaru statewide trivia. Be sure to tune in to the Montana Outdoor Radio Show for your chance to win every Saturday morning.

And lastly, I want to say thank you to all the veterans and current members of the military.
