State wildlife officials confirmed that the 2012 general big game hunting seasons will not be extended. The season ended on Sunday, November 25, 2012.
Here is what Ken McDonald, chief of Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ wildlife bureau had to say:
“We are not planning any big game season extensions anywhere in the state this year. If specific population or damage problems emerge, we’ll use management seasons or game damage hunts to address them.”
