Fishing is still  excellent.  Guys are limiting out.  People are catching walleyes on worms and leeches in 2 feet  using colors chartreuse and white.   Northerns are biting on  crankbaits.  One of my guys caught a 41 inch northern this past weekend.

Fishing is  good. Fishermen are catching walleye, pike, and some crappie.  They are catching  carp using jigs and crankbaits. We have all services available.

Brett  says,” fishing is doing well. Walleyes are one to four pounds so decent eater size.  They are using bottom bouncers to catch them.  Northern Pike   are biting on  crankbaits.  Perch  are  biting like crazy.

Gene Moore, of Lake Ridge says, “  Salmon are biting!!  They are catching them at the face of the dam using flashers and squids.  They are also using evil eye and flutter spoons. Fishing is excellent. The trout are turning on at 80 to 90 feet. “   The walleyes are great catching in the river,” he  says.

Nelson,  Forchette

Dan at West Side Sports tells us,.”  Nelson is fishing well using bottom bouncers.”  Walleye are biting on bottom bouncers.  They are using, night crawlers, leeches as well. Northern Pike are doing good and being caught on crankbaits.  Of course the water is warmer and the levels are lowering as well.

Forchette has good fishing using bottom bouncers for walleyes.  They are catching Northerns on cranks and small mouths on jigs.

***Cooney

Walleye have  picked up.  People are limiting out.  Fish are biting on leeches and lures especially trolling.  Shore is a little better fishing.

***Deadmans and Martinsdale

Martinsdale and Deadmans some improvement  this week from the boat and the  shoreline. Justin thinks it is tough because as the reservoir is drawn down the hot weather makes it tough on the fish and catching them is really tough.

The river is dead and slow at this time.  They are catching a few on shore.  Slower  bite because of the heat.

Tongue River Reservoir

Colton says, ” Crappie fishing is getting better. Walleye fishing is good and they are 18 to 22 inches and being caught using cranks.”   Northern pike are also fishing well.  Small mouth are also fishing well.  They are starting to catch catfish on stinky bait.

Canyon Ferry

Fishing is  good.  The south end has warmed up to 78 degrees so the walleye are moving north.  They are catching  mostly on the west end at Hole in the wall and White Earth  at 20 to 30 feet depth.   People are catching   trout, walleye and perch.  “ Pretty much anything is working, bottom bouncers, jigs and cranks,”  Sharon says.  This  Saturday  is the camp-mak-a-dream walleye benefit, come fish for the kids you can still sign up.

*** Minnow bucket  Allen Camarillo  348-2440

“Fishing is improving.  They are catching  nice catfish and small mouths are picking up.  Rapellas are working on smallmouth. “ Allen says.  Walleye are starting to bite.  The River is   clear one  day and cloudy the next and it has dropped.  He  thinks that it has to o with irrigation use.  Walleye and sauger are being caught at  Hysham.

***Lake Elmo  Billings

People are turning to swimming during the day as the high temps  has slowed down fishing in the heat of the day. They are catching in the morning and evening.

 ***Don’s      Dave  1-800-879-8194

Lewistown East Fork Reservoir

Dave says, “PCB is emptying East Fork Dam so  Spring Creek is muddy.  Fishing is good on the edges with hoppers up and down Spring Creek.  Achley Lake is fair using bait and marshmallows.  Using a fly rod in the evening is good fishing.  You can also use hardware in a boat and find good fishing as well.  Crooked Creek is good and they are catching nice walleye on spinners and bottom bouncers in 12 to 18 feet depth.  The pond is high and the moss has definitely increased.
